OVERVIEW:

Echodream is a game engine specialized for making pixelated 2D games. It includes built in editors for levels, pixel art, and tile maps using a custom GUI system I implemented from scratch.

PURPOSE:

Echodream was born out of my desire for a toolset specialized for making games with a retro aesthetic. I have used a variety of tools to this end over the years, including Unity, Game Maker Studio, Piskel, Tiled, Super Mario Maker, and even MS Paint. With Echodream, I wanted to combine the best features from these disparate toolsets into one ecosystem and give myself control over the code base.
