OVERVIEW:

The Tilemap Editor is a built-in tool for creating and editing tilemaps directly inside the engine. It’s fully integrated with the engine’s palette indexing system, so colors display exactly as they do in-game. Tilemaps are stored in the engine’s native format for immediate use in rooms and other tools.

FEATURES:

  • Integrated directly into the engine for a streamlined workflow

  • Supports the engine’s palette indexing system for accurate in-editor colors

  • Create new tilemaps from scratch or edit tilemaps in existing rooms

  • Painting tools include brush, bucket fill, color replace, eyedropper, and eraser

  • Undo/redo

  • Adjustable tile size and grid with customizable color, dimensions, and offset

  • Automatic grid snapping for precise tile placement

  • Saves tilemaps in the engine’s native format

FUTURE PLANS:

A selection tool along with cut/copy/paste will be added on the next update. For scene editing, I would like to add the option to see game objects. I also want to add a toolbar (tools are currently toggled with hotkeys).
